Hit it hard or hit it soft, the note is always the same. "Playing" a tuning fork is relatively easy: Taking care not to hold it by the prongs, you slap it against something hard like a tabletop - or even the bottom of your shoe - and then listen as it rings for about 5 seconds. In 1876, Bell was able to use a battery, an electrified tuning fork and a cup of acidic water to transmit sound over an electric wire for the first time. Tuning forks were even behind some of telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell's earliest experiments. Today, the $3.5-billion Yamaha Corporation has a trio of tuning forks as their logo. Young musicians were given gold-plated tuning forks upon successful completion of a conservatory exam. In portraits, choirmasters posed while brandishing a tuning fork. In concerts, Shore jokingly referred to his invention as a "pitch fork." Shore's device quickly became the must-have tool of musicians around the world.

Of particular interest to me, however, is discovering specific techniques targeted towards Lyme bacteria’s adhesion proteins that allow it to bind so tightly to its host’s body. The device was first invented in 1711 by John Shore, a trumpet player working for the British Crown. I continue to discover more and more disease-specific information and techniques using sound, tuning forks, cranial and osteopathic manipulation.

When I look at this from a vibrational perspecitve… I intuit that the vibrational shift within the tissues encourages a similar shift within the vascular, lymphatic and organ systems that support those tissues’ health and vitality. It also helps prevent a detox reaction and helps the tissues to heal more quickly. This allows the bacteria and metabolic waste products that are released from the connective tissue to be more easily excreted from the body. The treatments also help optimize function of the elimination pathways of the body (liver, gut, kidneys). I’m currently conducting research to support this outcome, but for now I’ll just have to say that intuitively this is what I feel. Then it seems as if there is a natural, almost effortless, “purging,” both physically and energetically, of the organism from the body. I use the words “loosen” and “disconnect” here, but it feels more like there is a vibrational shift that occurs – the vibration of the body no longer supports the vibration of the bacteria. I “reasoned” that this was, at least in part, because the specific frequencies of vibration that I was using could “loosen” and “disconnect” the borrelia bacteria from connective tissue and release it into the blood stream for elimination from the body. For instance, I was getting particularly great results with patients with Lyme disease and associated coinfections (such as Babesiosis and Bartonella). I began modifying the treatments to be more specific to individual disease processes in order to yield even better results. Thanks to the tuning fork, tuning of musical instruments at home has. When you hit it, the vibration starts which provokes the needed sound. Actually the musical tuning fork is a 'piece of iron' in the form of a fork. This frequency is an international standard for note La or A. The foundation of my treatments is always osteopathic, then I enhance them with sound and tuning fork techniques. Tuning fork generates the constant sound with frequency 440 Hz.

I was so amazed that I started using my techniques on my patients and they too reported amazing benefits in a wide variety of symptoms and disease processes. I began experimenting with sound on myself using tuning forks and singing bowls and had marvelous results in healing symptoms of anxiety, back pain, digestion issues, and overall energy levels. The notion that everything is vibration ‘shook’ my perspective of the world and reality as a whole. This is one way that sound can travel from one source, such as a tuning fork, to reach another object, like our bodies. Waves of pressure can travel through any medium – water, air, even solid objects. Vibration is a physical wave of pressure. I first learned about sound healing several years ago through independent study with a particular interest in quantum physics… which teaches us that everything is vibration and everything has a frequency.
